National Park Service Posters 1938

Fort Marion National Monument is located in St. Augustine, Florida.

Zion National Park is located near Springdale, Utah.

Yellowstone National Park is located in three states, Wyoming, Montana and Idaho.

Lassen Volcanic National Park is located in Central Northern California.

Grand Canyon National Park is located in Arizona.

I met a guy who collects these park service posters, which I had never seen before. He had some beauties, and wow, these are amazing too. So simple, yet elegantly designed.

Are you lucky enough to have any originals?

These are great, I really like the Zion one. I was wondering where would these posters have been displayed? Travel offices?

Tim, some might have been in early travel offices. But most would show up in train stations and bus depots.

I'm not as big a fan of this style of poster as the kind immediately before it... The CPR put out comparable ones to advertize Canadian national parks and hotels, but I prefer the 1910's/20's a bit more... Nevertheless they are gorgeous.

And visiting the Grand Canyon, Yosemite and the American side of Waterton-Glacier Int'l Peace Park are on my list of things to do!
