Dashboard View: In 1957 when Disneyland built the Viewliner locomotive, this is the car that was used. Simply because the dashboard was identical left to right. The area where the radio and glove compartment is, was cut out, windshield and all. Both left and right sections were then attached to each other.
The speedometer and steering column (with wheel removed) was moved to the right side to accomdate the accelerator and brake levers. The right section of the dashboard that housed the clock was moved to the left. And now you have the engineers cabin for the Viewliner locomotive.

Such beautiful automobiles, and great illustrations as well. I love the way an environment is suggested with just a sliver of background detail!
I love these illustrations... so clean with great use of white space. The colors really pop. The future seemed so bright in these ads, when the USA was really on the move. What a graceful Super 88 logo that is, too. Thanks for sharing!
