John "Duke" Wayne, who received the best actor "Oscar" in 1969 for "True Grit" is represented in a scene from the 1954 production of "Hondo". The desert backdrop, like those used in the filming of actual motion pictures, makes the shallow set appear to extend to the horizon.
Cliff Robertson portrayed John F. Kennedy in this 1963 production about the former President's experiences aboard the "PT 109". The astonishing set shows Kennedy rescuing his fellows from the burning PT boat. When Cliff Robertson visited Movieland he had to don waders to get a closer look at the set.
Michael Landon, Lorne Greene and Dan Blocker, who made up the famous Cartwright family on the long-running Sunday night TV favorite, Bonanza, are right at home in Movieland standing in an exact reproduction of the Ponderosa "front yard". One of the largest sets in the hall of fame, the Bonanza set is also a great favorite among families visiting the motion picture and television shrine in Buena Park.
Mary Poppins pays a visit to Movieland Wax Museum, the Buena Park, California, stars' hall of fame, in this lovely fantasy scene from the 1964 Disney production. Beautiful and talented Julie Andrews portrayed the title character, and her wax counterpart at Movieland is costumed in an exact copy of the wardrobe from the film.
