The Dakota, Minnesota and Eastern Railroad is a Class II railroad subsidiary of the Canadian Pacific Railway operating across South Dakota and southern Minnesota in the northern plains of the United States. Portions of the railroad also extend into Wyoming, Nebraska and Iowa.

Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern EMD SD40-2 ~ Canadian Pacific's Watertown sub MP 149.8 ~ Columbus, Wisconsin, May 06, 2008 ~ DME 6370 is westbound with a detouring ethanol empty entering Columbus. 6370 is ex-Milwaukee Road, as is this trackage.

I love the pictures of the trains in Minnesota... I suppose they really could have been taken in a number of states, but as soon as I saw them they reminded me of driving to my grandparent's house in Southern Minn.

Thank you everyone. I love shooting in the upper Mississippi valley, lots of bald eagles there in the cold months.
