Heartland Rails: Canadian Pacific

The post from Viewliner Ltd contributor Ray Peacock will be a regular feature on Sunday's and will showcase Ray's great railroad photography. (To visit Heartland Rails just click on the banner.)

The Canadian Pacific Railway is a Canadian Class I railway. Its rail network stretches from Vancouver to Montreal, and also serves major cities in the United States such as Minneapolis, Chicago, and New York City.

Canadian Pacific Railway EMD F7 - Portage Depot, Portage, Wisconsin, May 01, 2003 - CP's derby train enroute to Louisville makes a late night crew change at Portage. CP employees on duty take a time out to pose for photos, everyone has a camera in their grip. After their photos, time to get a quick shot before highball is given.

Canadian Pacific Railway EMD F7(A) - Camp Douglas, Wisconsin, May, 2003 - CP's Kentucky Derby train returns west over the former MILW. This is CP's Tomah sub, and on this day the clouds keep getting thicker as rain soaks the air.

Canadian Pacific Railway EMD F7(A) - CP Watertown sub MP 157, Town of Fountain Prairie, Wisconsin, May 05, 2003 - Returning west to Calgary from the Kentucky Derby, CP's RCP nears CTC Dodge West and single track.

Canadian Pacific Railway EMD F7(A) - CP Watertown sub MP 150, Columbus, Wisconsin, May 05, 2003 - CP Kentucky Derby special returns to Canada after the big weekend in Louisville, passing the depot at Columbus.

Canadian Pacific Railway - CP Watertown sub MP 150 - Columbus, Wisconsin, May 05, 2003 - A timeless railroad image as CP's Royal Canadian returns from the Kentucky Derby and passes a Civil-War-era depot at Columbus. Only welded rail and the FRED give this away as modern.

These are all nice, but the second one is my favorite.
