Cool Disney Advertising

One of the first buildings you will see when you enter the magic realm of Disneyland is a turn of the century Bank of America branch.

Mickey Mouse Club on WNAC-TV Channel 7 - Coming October 3, 1955.

That B of A ad is awesome, a really great example of mid-century illustration. Wonder if t he artist also did Little Golden Books?

Interesting variation of this ad (link), I wonder how many different ads used this wonderful artwork?

Neat first run ad for the MMC, was that in a magazine or TV Guide?

Thanks!

That is awesome. You just don't see ads like that anymore.

Did anyone else notice that of the four male Disneyland employees in the ad, ALL FOUR have facial hair (which is forbidden by the company)?

VERY cool Disney Advertising! The facial hair thing is kind of wacky when you consider that Walt Disney himself, had a mustache.

BofA has since been replaced by Chase as the "official" bank of Disneyland

In 1955, Boston had only two commercial VHF stations, and WNAC was mostly CBS (with a few ABC shows); at the time, WBZ Channel 4 had NBC.

Channel 5 (now WCVB) went on the air in November of 1957, taking over "Mickey Mouse Club" from WNAC, and giving ABC-TV a fulltime affiliate in Boston for the first time.
