Since 2004, teens Brittany and Robbie Bergquist and Cell Phones For Soldiers have raised millions of dollars to help our troops call home. Proceeds from donated cell phones are used to purchase prepaid calling cards for American troops.
Brittany Bergquist was named one of America’s Top Ten Youth Volunteers in 14th Annual Prudential Spirit of Community Awards on May 4, 2009.
Are you telling me that our troops aren't able to call home without their own personal cell phones?? The military doesn't supply them with phones (cell or otherwise) that can get them in touch with their loved ones?
The military does not supply troops with cell phones. The calling cards off-set the cost of the calls. That way the troops can talk to their families longer.
Nope, not pulling your leg! I didn't expect the military to supply cell phones, but aren't there phones of SOME kind that they can use free of charge? Seems the least that could be done. Guess I'm naive...

Definitely a worthy cause. I'll have to see what I can do.
