Hmmmm, I was wondering if the "Sombrero Tower" is still there?

Okay, I just had to know so I Googled it. Yay, the Sombrero Tower is still standing and it looks like it just went through a multi-million dollar restoration along with the rest of the South of the Border complex.

Growing up in the area I visited Railways of America many times! It was a wonderful, magical thrill. To a small child the 'world's largest model train collection' seemed like an entire world. All of the pieces were hand built and the track was all made of individual rails and ties. Twice an hour the lights would be turned off and all the buildings and trains would be lit up. Some of the scenerey was fantastic including a complete circus with cutaway big top and hundreds of spectators. In the 1970's i took a college date there. It was all but deserted. We had dinner and drinks in the full size dining club cars. It was a true moment of time travel. It has been long closed and the collection divided up.
