U.S. Highway 66

More favorite postcards. Route 66 is just a bunch of fun. ENJOY!

Garbage Can Cafe and Lowery's Phillips 66 Station - Located 7 miles East of Marshfield, Missouri and 7 miles West of Conway, Missouri, on U.S. Highway 66. Famous for its home cooked food and individual home made pies.

One of the best known sayings of Claremore's beloved native son Will Rogers --- "I Never Met A Man I Didn't Like" --- charactierizes the atmosphere of the famous 5 TRIBES TRADING POST located just East of the beautiful Will Rogers Memorial, Claremore, Oklahoma.

Will Rogers, proud of his Cherokee blood, often remarked "My ancestors didn't come over on the Mayflower, they were there to meet the boat."

This authentic trading post is owned and operated by Cherokee Indians and specializes in Indian goods and Will Rogers souvenirs.

Imagine being able to explore Route 66 in its prime. Of course we have the luxury of hindsight; 50 years ago I probably would have driven right past most of the roadside businesses without a second look.
